“I haven't been everywhere but it's on my list.”

Morocco
March - April 2025
TBA AUD
Standard occupancy 2 persons, inclusive
Optional Extras listed below

Discover the magic and decadence of the desert as we journey from the city to the Sahara, experiencing traditional culture and an extraordinary camel trekking journey. This is an exciting cross-culture collaborative adventure for every kind of traveller.

The allure of the Sahara has called to writers and artists for generations. From the colours to the expanse to the mysterious rolling sand dunes, the Sahara and its people have been a source of curiosity and inspiration. It is now an UNESCO World Heritage Site that Camel Treks Australia has the privilege to explore.

We will travel on camel back to desert dwellings with Berbers, the indigenous people of North Africa that make up nearly half of population of Morocco. They refer to themselves as "Amazighe" or "free people" and continue to reside in the desert's interior, living simply, and sharing stories with travellers.

Once guests arrive in Morocco, they will be met at the airport by a crew member. We provide multi-lingual guides and private transportation for the duration of the entire journey. Languages you can expect to hear during your time with us are English, French, Darija Arabic, and several Berber dialects.

Guests will experience the incomparable style of riad accommodation throughout the trip. Riads are comfortable bed and breakfast style hotels that frequently overlook the city with courtyards or gardens in the interior. In the desert, we will stay in well-established and fully furnished tent dwellings where there will always be evening entertainment and chances to explore "The Great Desert."

The women that weave are on site and demonstrate the craft, and their sons & nephews work in the shop, showing carpets and explaining the styles. They accept credit cards and ship internationally. Our final push to Fint will take about 1.5 hours with no stops. The evening should be quite chill, with dinner served at 8pm.
